SCHOOL HISTORY
The concept of Assisi Vidyaniketan Public School – Perumpilly, was formed in the year 2002 by the Archbishop Attipetty Foundation Trust, then under the experienced and dynamic guidance of its Director, Rev.Dr.Francis Kannikal. His Grace, the most Rev.Dr.Daniel Acharuparambil, then Archbishop of Verapoly, laid the foundation stone on the 2nd of December, 2002. Constuction work commenced on 23rd January, 2003 and by sheer perseverance, hard work and God’s frace, two stories out of the three were completed within 6 months, in time for the school to start functioning efficiently.

The school officially began to function on 2nd June 2003

We had a modest strength of 256 students in all, from Nursery to Class VI (8 divisions). We had 19 teaching and 14 non-teaching staff and two school buses.

Assisi – Perumpilly is situated in the outskirts of Kochi city on the scenic Island of Vypin, sandwiched between the backwaters of the Vembanad and the Arabian Sea, about 11 kms from the High Court of Kerala, across the Gosree Bridges, in the calm and serene atmosphere of Perumpilly, in Narakkal village.

The existing school building which was completed in two phases is about 100 meters long, with well ventilated class rooms.

Facilities are provided for sports and games, along with extracurricular activities and clubs.

C.B.S.E. Affiliation – Inspection took place on Saturday, 6th November 2004. Our affiliation to C.B.S.E. was approved on the 16th December 2004. Our affiliation No. is 930525. Our affiliation with C.B.S.E. stands valid with extension up to 31.03.2016.

Presently we have 1400 students in classes I to XII, 73 teaching staff and 36 non-teaching staff.

We have had four batches of AISSE (Class X) and 2 Batches of AISSCE (Class XII) Students passing out of the school with excellent results. With the majority of our students being from the poor and backward classes this is not a mean task.
